Burundi’s Primus league is set to return in action for the season 2020-2021 on September 5th, 2021 after the country’s Football Federation president Reverien Ndikuriyo met club’s presidents in the capital Gitega.
After the meeting with the club’s president in the country’s new capital Gitega the Burundi Football Federation (FFB) released a statement on the new fixtures with the opening matches expected to kick-off in less than two months’ time.
“On determining the day one of the Primus League a draw was made and the teams on the first fixture were determined,” a statement read from FFB.

Kayanza United Vs Les elephants
Athletico Vs Bs Dynamik
Musongati FC Vs interstar
Vital’o FC Vs Rukinzo FC
Flambeau du Centre Vs Messager Ngozi
Aigle noir Vs Olumpic Star
Buja City Vs Bumamuru FC and,
Muzinga FC Vs Royal FC
The defending champions Messager Ngozi are expected to defend their title visiting Flambeau du Centre on Saturday 5th September 2020.
Ngozi City, Les Lierres and Lydia Ludic for Africa are the three teams that were relegated to the second division while Les Elephants, Royal FC and Muzinga were promoted to the 16 club Primus League’s first division.
For the 2020-2021 season the Burundi football federation
he participants had the opportunity to recieve information on the new measures which will be implemented during this season 2020-2021: national license of the clubs that each club wiill have to recieve to participate in the local championships and thes DTMS System.
