Burundi government said that fifty of the COVID-19 patients who were undergoing treatment underwent a retesting and results showed they were free from the virus.
Burundi’s health ministry reported 26 new coronavirus cases on June 27, 2020 as the number of COVID-19 cases rose to 170 according to the Burundian health ministry.
“The 26 new confirmed cases were among contacts tracing and alerts from BUMEREC but 25 of them were through contact tracing,” a statement from the ministry of health read.
Burundi government said that fifty of the COVID-19 patients who were undergoing treatment underwent a retesting and results showed they were free from the virus, “22 of those 50 patients whose results were negative were discharged from the hospital”, a statement read.
Burundi’s Ministry of public health called on the citizens to continue observing hygiene measures as regulated by health officials including washing hands regularly, avoiding physical contacts in public as of avoiding handshakes or hugging.
