Burundi’s health ministry this Tuesday reported eight new COVID-19 cases from the 158 people who were tested for the virus including the contact tracing which that was made from the previous COVID-19 patients.
“Among 136 people who had spent more time with the previous COVID-19 five of them were infected with the virus,” a statement read from Burundi’s health ministry.
“Some hospitals in Bujumbura sent an alert that eleven people were suspected to have been infected and results showed five of them tested positive,” the statement read.

Currently the total number of Coronavirus cases in Burundi stands at 27 with 11 to have recovered and discharged from the hospital with one fatality.
