Burundi’s Council for Liberation (CNL) has yet again accused the ruling party youth wing (Imbonerakure) of harassing and intimidating the party members.
The allegations came during a press conference held by the CNL spokesperson Thérénce Manirambona in Bujumbura,“they are assaulted and sometimes beaten but all we need is a free political space, said Mr. Manirambona.

“The government and Electoral Commission should make sure there is free political space and protect our members,” said the CNL spokesman.
According to CNL at least 200 members of the party are said to have been arrested during a 14 months period
This comes as the campaigns for the presidential election dues from this April 27 to May 17, 2020. While general elections are expected to take place in May 20, 2020.
